Okay ! Lots of stuff to say here ! There were some details I wasn't sure of about the lore of this mixed UT/ISAT universe, but recently I made myself a little memo of everything and I'm more sure of my stuff. So I made it clear in this one : Chara is here ! And they are here to help....maybe.

I personally think that there's a lot of ISAT stuff in this AU and not enough UT, so the next one (the one I really wanted to make for a while) will be more about UT, and it will be out...tomorrow ! Dragon Age, as a series, deserved so much better than Veilguard.

Spoilers for Veilguard and maybe other DA stuff.

Obligatory 'I'm not an asshole' disclaimer. Feel free to jump to the cut if you've read it.

Something came to my attention. I need to make it crystal clear that I utterly love the diversity in DAV. It's fantastic. I'm also a heavily left leaning, non-binary, queer as fuck reviewer, editor, and author.

I was on media blackout while I played DAV. Please be safe and take care of yourselves. Arguing with incels and white supremacists is completely pointless. They sea lion worse than an actual sea lion. Your mental health is important.

Though, every single time the anti-queer brigade comes out for a new DA game, I sit there thinking 'have you bozos ever played any DA game, like, ever?' My guess is nope.

Note. None of my writing on DA, but especially DAV, is edited. This is just my off the cuff writing. I don't have the time, energy, or heart to edit them properly.

The Solavellan romance deserved a much better end than 'die and go to fade prison'. I agree that Inky would likely be happy to leave. She's as traumatized as Solas for having to lead when she didn't want to. But I needed more than a craptastic Romeo and Juliet ending.

I refuse to do the heavy lifting for the writers. If it wasn't shown in the game or in supplementary materials, it didn't happen. Showing us the story was the writers' and devs job, not mine.

I mourn what will never be, even as I work on a Solavellan fix it fic.

How could they betray the IP so badly?

How could they betray their fanbase so badly? The fanbase that kept hope for that game alive for 10 years. I've seen so many people saying they've lost their interest or passion for the entirety of Dragon age. That they're not even remotely interested in another game because absolutely none of the choices we made in previous games matters anymore. They've wiped everything clean... or blighted it anyway. (I have absolutely no interest in another DA game. Not with Epler/Busche/Weekes involved. And whoever designed that ridiculous fighting system.)

The only way I could possibly be interested in another game would be if they loudly decanonized DAV, gave us a DLC (they've already confirmed there will be no DLC) that showed us Solas and Inky happy and not in a horrible place. One that showed us that somehow, something changed for the elves.

But that's so unlikely it's laughable.

The elves deserved a better ending. Are the survivors still enslaved or living in alienages? What actually changed for the elves except the largest portion of the Dalish being dead from blight? (That’s a real elvish win, isn't it?)

I'm a stubborn person. I refuse to let Epler's 'hate-revenge on Solas fan fic' ruin something I've loved for years. I still have the first 3 games. I'll make an actual happy ending and a decent romance for Rook in my fic.

And by the fact they paid a fortune to big gaming magazines while denying game keys to bigger honest reviewers... they knew.

They knew gamers wouldn't like it and tried to blow so much smoke up our asses with the interviews and AMAs.

How do they even sleep at night?

I'm a creative too, I write, do graphic design, digital (learning) and traditional (good) art.

My stories are important to me. They deserve not only an ending, but an ending that respects the characters, lore, and world that I've created.

My readers deserve that, too.

I, as the creator of my stories, deserve a decent, respectful ending.

Dragon age deserved it, too. A good, well thought out, and well written ending to the story of the Dreadwolf storyline, which, if you're paying attention, is intertwined through all 3 games. It's not just in Inquisition. One that made sense to the collected Lore, his struggles and mistakes, his literary role as an anti-hero.

I would never be able to do what they've done to a beloved series. I could never knowingly mislead fans like they did.

It's just a really painful reminder that beloved stories can be utterly destroyed in the wrong hands. And a reminder that there's so much talent and skill in Fan fic.

Busche worked on the Sims. No wonder the companions often feel as interesting as wet cardboard. Most Sims NPCs do, too. (I actually enjoy the Sims, but the NPCs aren't why I like it.)

And she had the gall to blame 'culture wars' and 'identity politics' for why the game is tanking. Rather than take ownership of the incredibly bad calls made for DAV.

It's just gross. I wish I could stop thinking about it. But Dragon Age got me through some tough times. It means a lot to me.

And it just deserved better. So did we.

Pairing: Platonic/Pet-Like

Possible Trigger Warnings: Female/Gender-Neutral Darling, Overprotective behavior, Stalking, Kidnapping, Territorial/Possessive behavior, Forced companionship.

This idea reminds me of something similar to the fourth Alien movie.

In this case you'd be similar to Ripley 8, some sort of experiment involving a human harboring Xenomorph DNA.

This would naturally make you connected to the Xenomorphs.

However, the non-canon Alien pollen also seems like an interesting idea.

Maybe the "spores" seep into your skin and make you smell like a Xenomorph, somehow altering your DNA in the process?

These are the ideas I came up with that could make this concept work.

We haven't really seen Xenomorphs reject a Queen, however I could have missed it in lore.

As a result I would assume they'd react similarly to insects: they'd most likely kill the old Queen if they are somehow attached to you.

It's that or the Queen has already died at some point and the Hive is looking for a new one.

Which makes them choose you due to your smell.

I'd assume this concept would go like this, you have a whole Hive under your control.

It doesn't matter if you like it or not, the Xenomorphs see you as their new "Queen" regardless of gender.

While they would prefer you stay in their Hive, Drones would try to follow you just about anywhere.

Honestly towards you they may just act like pets.

You can't lay eggs or reproduce so the colony is doomed to be small.

That is unless a small group of Drones break off with you while a new Queen actually settles in the Hive.

If we go with that idea then I suspect you'd have about six-ish Drones following you at all times.

Obviously if they all saw you as leader than they'd fiercely protect you.

Even if this is a small group that separates from the rest of the Hive, they'd probably try to make your home a new Hive.

Wherever you live this new group will infest, they think they're helping.

After all they only know Hives as homes, they have no idea you live differently.

Expect the waxy and wet coating of Xenomorph Hives to quickly coat a sections of your home.

I'd assume they'd pick one of three places; your basement (if you have one), attic (if you have one), or your bedroom.

They'll make a section of your living space theirs then try to drag you into it as their leader/Queen.

You'll notice they smell rather acidic/earthy... yet they don't have a strong smell.

Even if you already smell like a Xenomorph I can see them trying to rub against you or cuddle you to make the pheromone smell stronger.

Xenomorphs would most likely be territorial of their new leader and home.

You can't really prevent it, either.

Better hope no friends come over as they'll be quickly attacked by one or two of the large Drones.

You may not even get to experience human contact again.

Your new Xenomorph followers would probably find a new place to make a nest then just drag you there.

Humans are a great source of hosts, yet they see them as too dangerous for you to be around.

They could harm the colony.

They could harm their Queen.

As a result, your overprotective Xenomorph pets would most likely become territorial to the point your life is now in isolation.

Sadly, you don't have a choice in the matter...

Until you eventually pass... you'll be their Queen/leader... away from humanity until something changes (if it even does).

I’m trying to get a handle on Jason as a character. I got a great answer on Jason and Tim from @ultimate-marysue but they directed me to you as the Jason Todd expert. I’m wondering about Jason and Damian now. Do they interact at all in canon? Are they friendly/friends, typical brothers, enemies, or just acquaintances? Or do they just ignore each other?

I hope you can give me an answer. Thanks either way!

Oh goodness, that's because @ultimate-marysue is an absolute sweetheart but unfortunately my Jason knowledge is far from exhaustive, especially when it comes to Jason and Damian since some of their relationship happens in, um, unfortunate comics that are hard for me to get through (they probably say that because I study developmental psychopatholgy and do in-depth analysis about jason through that length rather than exhaustive lore-knowledge).

Sorry to toss you around like a pingpong ball, but I know @daisybell-on-a-carousel is currently trying to read through every single one of Jason's apparitions in comics (godspeed), so depending of where they're at in the comics they're definitely the one to ask for stuff like that in general. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone who posts a lit of lore/meta about Damian and Jason's relationship, but I do know @spicy-apple-pie loves Damian a lot and does really sweet comics so idk if they can help you but at the very least if they can't you'll get to read some cute comics.

The little I know about Jason and Damian's relationship:

-Jason and Damian's first meeting, from what I've gathered, is either from Battle for the Cowl (brutally butchers Jason's character, my second least favourite ever if I could go back in time to stop Tony Daniel from writing it I would), in which Jason shoots Damian in the chest, or Morrison's Batman & Robin run (somehow even more hated by the fans than Daniel, Morrison has admitted later to just not liking Jason's character. According to a survey I'm running these two are in the top three of worst Jason writers, but Morrison has a bonus of also butchering Talia's character to an unfathomable level and I don't know if I like his Damian very much either.) in that run (which is Dickbats with robin!Damian) Jason is portrayed as the classic "crazy evil villain" bs and making Dick his sworn-enemy apparently (he's more of a plot device than anything imo). So, we're off to a great start.

-The issue is, with the reboot, I find it pretty hard to clarify for some events which ones are still canon or not. The current state of dc comics is pushing the batfam conception more than ever before, with Jason back in the family (something that vaguely happened off-screen in the n52) and neither jason, dick, tim, damian nor anybody else seems to reference or resent anything about that despite how cartoonishly evil jason was in those so I think it's implied that they're not canon anymore (and I hope they stay this way and buried under twenty layers of retcon). However I don't think I've heard or seen any mention of a different first meeting for them so there's this shadow area of yeah btfc and morrison's jason probably didn't happen but then what did?

-currently as I said dc (ie tom king amongst others) pushes for a very "classical family batfam vibe" so they're on panel/on missions together but i haven't heard of them having arcs together in mainline (people who know more than me please feel free to correct me in the notes, in general but also if there's more about this specifically). I'm getting "siblings that don't really like eachother but don't hate eachother either vibes", especially on Damian's part. It's really not the most developed relationship in the batfam, of that I'm sure.

-for many people I've seen that their favourite damian and jason comic is juni ba's boy wonder volume 2. It isn't canon in mainline (and not my favourite jason characterization tbh) but since the two of them don't seem to interact that much in canon and the story is pretty popular and feels kinda parallel-ish to canon I get why people would consider it their reference. Also it has pretty sick designs for the both of them which certainly doesn't hurt.

-in the young justice show, a brainwashed/brain damaged(?) Jason is shown holding a baby Damian in his arms. This has no incidence on any dc comics canon but is extremely cute and therefore worth mentioning.

it's just so fucking BORING!! the concept is interesting i do find the concept interesting (vampire priest who believes his vampirism is a gift from god) but somehow it was done in the least interesting way possible. sometimes there's like a minute where i thought "holy shit is it finally gonna get better" and then i watched the next episode and it continued to be exactly the same.

all the characters are basically exactly the same. i know it's by monologue flanagan but can they at least monologue in DIFFERENT ways??? dear god. he edited it himself and you can REALLY tell. the fucking ten minute scene that's just "what do you think happens after we die? vcnvncmrnwbvnjef vdmnnc cmnennwneetnewnnwbefnbrtnbemrbermnbmrbtrtbwnrebeb" is crazy who thought that was a good idea. god every character was so forgettable i think i remember like 4 names. genuinely i see people talking about a character and i have to look them up and i STILL don't remember them. don't get me started on the fucking therapy speak. also riley flynn is the most boring protagonist i've ever seen i can't think of a single personality trait he has. i can barely think of ANY personality traits ANY characters have.

i know we shit on his adaptations a lot (as we should) and at the very fucking least he didn't ruin another excellent work of horror with midnight mass but he is NOT a good writer with his own stuff either!! it's so BLAND. even when it's not boring it's bland and uninteresting. i know i'm biased i know i watch extreme horror to find artistic value in underlooked pieces of media so i'm used to "that freak shit" but he did nothing!!! he did nothing with his vampire priest! he was literally irrelevant by the end because he gave that antagonist role to some other character and he was never really the protagonist either. he was just there for a really dumb late-game romance plot/plot twist.

it's such an unbearable show and the ending isn't even good!!! its tone is so fucking weird like everyone dies and yet there's still a weirdly hopeful tone to it. i feel like that's a moment to REALLY lean into the tragedy. it doesn't have a happy ending but it also doesn't let you feel sad enough for it to be truly tragic.

also there's like three different types of vampire in the show and it makes NO sense why they're so different from each other. i'm not asking for extensive lore i'm just asking for consistency.

it's like 8 hours long and i know i've probably spent way more than that complaining about this fucking show but still a waste of my time. it just sucks so much. it could have been an okay movie but as a whole show it's so dragged out and doesn't DO anything with those eight hours. i don't mind a slow burn i really don't but a) the build up has to be worth something and b) it has to have something really really good at the end of the build up.

honestly it looks SO good in gifs and screenshots and fanart that it makes me wish the show was better because you could have a much better experience just looking at those and imagining a good show than actually watching it.

on the plus side if you DO watch the actual show riley's death scene is the funniest shit in the whole thing.

Maddy and Tom are fine. They don't really show up let alone do anything for 95% of the movie but like- when they're there they're fine *shrugs* Neither of them go through any character arcs, they're just supporting roles here, and that's all good and fine. I like how Tom getting severely injured really affects Sonic!! It's good shit!!!

SHADOW IS PERFECT. Augh. They really did their homework and absolutely nailed his characterization- While some of Keanu's line reads didn't QUITE hit how they should've, but like still 9/10 performance and 10/10 characterization. He's so good.

MARIA! IS! SO! GOOD!!! She feels like a real child and like a child from the 70s too!!!! She feels like a real person and not just "Shadooowwww you have to protect humanityyyyy the earth is so perfect you must protect them!!!" Don't get me wrong I love the original Maria but this one feels real and i LOVE HER.

So they didn't shoot her directly which... yeah thats fair. Execs probably wouldnt have let it slide for their PG rating. The fact that more than one guy WERE firing even though there were children ("CHILDREN", PLURAL- COMMANDER SAW SHADOW AS A CHILD LETS GOOO!!!!) and that caused Maria's death is about as good as we were gonna get for these movies and I'm fine with that!

The whole rewrite of backstory lore for movie-verse? Im fine with tbh. Shadow arriving in a meteor is a good possible foreshadow (hehehe foreshadow) to Black Doom and all of that- and I'm fine with things being on Earth and not the ARK, like- movie-verse is clearly a different continuity so I'm fine with all of that

Agent Stone is good but man my mans deserved better. He KINDA got a bit of justice towards the end but ehhhh? Other than that he was fine.

G.U.N. was. Fine. They clearly wanted to go a "Some people in G.U.N. were good guys but overall G.U.N. sucks and Sonic and crew eventually learn that" angle but they never really follow through with that set-up. Once both keys are retrieved G.U.N. is baaaasically forgotten about. Which sucks :/

I hope Shadow comes back somehow. That'd be nice. Kinda like the games where hey maybe there's some memory loss or something or other- idk, it'd be nice for him to come back.

I DON'T CARE FOR JIM CARREY ANYMORE MY GODDDD. Like. Okay. He was perfectly fine as Ivo and Gerald early in the movie!!! It was fine! But when Ivo and Gerald team up... Im ngl you guys its just too many Carrey-isms that rreeeeaaaally overstay their welcome. It's tonally dissonant from the rest of the story they're trying to tell- Like yeah they can be silly and goofy sometimes but like. It takes away from the moment too many times.

It's a kids movie I know I know, but like- kids movies can and should take themselves seriously when the time calls for it! They had such a good setup for some really good moments!!!

Like Gerald having his heel-turn moment of "You're no Maria. My family is dead." was really good!!!! ... But then he just goes to being a goofy sort of villain again? And just Jim Carrey's all over the place???????

Like I think the worst offense was when Sonic and Shadow have their Live and Learn moment (WHICH! BTW!!! IS AMAZING!!!!! OMG LIVE AND LEEEAAAARN) and it's this AMAZING and CINEMATIC BADASS MOMENT- and then smash cuts to Gerald. Spanking. Ivo. With a big ol robotic hand and it's like... Oh. Oh wow it really killed the moment huh.

And when Gerald's sendoff was getting basically "Thousand years of death"'d or whatever the Naruto meme is- by a fucking Sonic quill and then just. Just. Bug zapper'd. With no real... anything behind it. I genuinely had a "Wait thats how he dies???" moment in the theater. Like. Seriously???

It's. Not good. And I really don't care for it and felt it reeeeaaally detracted from the movie- Again I know it's a kids movie but HEY KIDS MOVIES CAN TAKE THEMSELVES SERIOUSLY! Like. Like there's plenty of good humor (I think a good example is Team Sonic's first encounter with Shadow- good quips but also taking things seriously) but like- When a story is trying to be as serious as the FUCKING PLOT OF SA2, you can take it seriously! There's massive stakes here!

Ivo got a fine sendoff. It was fine. I dunno. It felt better than Gerald's shitty ass sendoff. I just. I hope it's for real. I want Jim Carrey to retire. He was fine in the first like 30 minutes but after that I was verrrry sick of him.

There is a huge part of me that is curious about dragon age because I love BG3 so much. But idk anything about it? Also none of the characters strike me as interesting (or attractive....) Maybe you could tell me what you like so much about ? maybe talk about the characters so I can give it a chance? I want to like it! but I just don't know!

I DIDN'T FORGET

So for me the first draw of Dragon Age is the incredible lore and worldbuilding that goes on in the games and books. It's arguably just as fleshed out as a setting like the Forgotten Realms despite just being three (soon four) video games and about a dozen books/comics. There's centuries of history. Ancient ruins. Environmental storytelling for days. A little visual cue in the first game that's referenced in optional banter in the third that pays off in the fourth (FIFTEEN years apart). I really appreciate that the first game, Dragon Age: Origins, only exposes you to part of the story. The game's set in a pestilence known as the Fifth Blight, and you're the plucky young adventurer that the grizzled old veteran manages to recruit out of a bad situation just before the end. And you and your friends are all that stand between victory and oblivion. But right off the bat there's storytelling about love and loss and prejudice and honor. There's a noble character who dies, leading to a coward being killed as the stakes are built. (There's also a dog you can pet, and moments to show kindness during armageddon, like a prisoner who just wants a sandwich before he dies, he hasn't been fed.)

And the banter is funny (if some of it's aged a bit unwell), and the gameplay really encourages you to get in the head of whatever character you want to build. Yes you can be the cliche prince charming. You can also be the sibling of a prostitute to pay the bills until your sister lands a high profile john who catches feels for her. From the start it's equal measures hopeful and bleak at the same time. (And as you invest in YOUR character emotionally, you inevitably emotionally invest in your companions too.) And gradually the world gets bigger. A character whose town you watch get destroyed becomes the protagonist of the second game, and they hook you in to. They're a refugee, a very timely story, and if they're a magic user, then they're an especially persecuted refugee. But you still make friends amidst the hopelessness. More of the world gets revealed. You have FUN, somehow. Characters from past games recur, either as cameos or in one very specific case as a high profile recurring character in 3 out of the 4. And you become so glad to see them as they represent continuity of story.

It's a game about family and faith and the lack thereof and prejudice and love and how one counters the other, about how persecuted people often pay the price of things that happened before their ancestors' ancestors were born, and that tomorrow should always be better than today.

That's thematic, though. Maybe you take a shine to Isabela the Pirate and Aveline the Guard Captain (maybe Merrill the blood mage elf, too). The three women basically form one of the best depictions of big/middle/little sister trios I've ever seen in a game. What starts out as cold hostility becomes banterful compassion and love. A lot of folks fell for Solas, an elven apostate whose every word is couched in three mysteries and two half-truths but seems to know way more than he's letting on. When you find out a horrible secret about the honourable Grey Warden Blackwall, do you leave him to his fate, try to redeem him, deliver a sufficient consequence, or outright torture him.

And you won't like everyone. The odds of you liking both the spirit-possessed mage Anders and the anti-magic elf Fenris in the same play of the same game are low unless you metagame it. And sometimes the games even rewards you for someone hating your ass or vice versa, and THAT'S organic. But being mean or having a negative interaction isn't some edgelord thing either, it's just "sometimes people don't get along" or "something you just need to punch someone"

You get to laugh at the tough stern warrior Cassandra getting absolutely beside herself wanting to know what happens in a book that it's writer, another of your companions, hated writing - and that even Cass herself calls smutty literature. Another character, The Iron Bull, is faced with a choice: His found family and the freedom to be who he's become, or the belief system he's known his entire life and that expects him to conform.

Does your character sacrifice? Does your character make the streets run red with blood? Is all you want to make people feel inspired and in something bigger than themselves? Even playing three (soon four) wholly new characters, you get to truly role-play and emotionally invest in these little blorbos, maybe even more strongly in Baldur's Gate. When a character returns you weren't expecting, is it joyful or melancholy? Can your character handle a confrontation of everything they've ever known.

And in the newest game, there's a baby griffon.

I love Dragon Age. The lore is expansive beyond sanity for a franchise with it's commercial output. The characters feel alive, and the game tasks you to emotionally invest in order to reap the maximum reward and suffer the strongest heartache. Plus, in many cases, when the game doesn't tell you, say about your character? You get to roleplay and use your imagination so, so strongly.

It's gotta fucking suck when one of the largest criminal enterprises in the entire city is run by fucking Nazis who don't even have the shame or need to hide it. Unfortunately, a fucking Nazi supervillain does wonders for the confidence of fascists.

On the face of it, insect control is neat but not game-breaking, but she's used it in order to make her own costume and armor, to create decoys, to act has her own costume and to fake like she's able to turn into bugs. There's no way she isn't going to get more creative from here, regardless of whether her power gets stronger on its own her creativity with it is the greatest asset.

There's only like 40 Taylor/Rachel fics on AO3, that's outrageous, how is there not more

Taylor's increasing versatility with her powers and also increasing comfort with performing acts of violence both seem to be moving at a remarkable pace; the former is a lot less worrying than the latter.

I'm sure this will be the last trouble with the Empire during this arc, definitely don't know that they're gonna escalate into outrageous murderous violence or anything

Time to talk about Firkász/Scribbles in the Puzzlevision arc 🎉

(Reminder that there is plenty of lore I simply do not know at all, may be forgetting something important I should know at any given moment, and in general just get silly and self-indulgent with it. If I'm missing crucial details though lmk gently)

In all honesty I still have no idea how their acquaintanceship. Starts. Like I could tell you about the middle and the ending (which I will) but when it comes to how these two buffoons would initially get close enough to enable all that comes next my mind just blanks for now. I'm not. Even really sure what Puzzles had been doing before all this. I've guessed he'd been attempting to get famous on his own, no mind control and kidnappings involved yet? But kept failing and being turned down because he "just doesn't have what it takes", amplifying his desperation to prove people wrong

Once fate (a.k.a the meddling of my grubby little hands) does somehow bring them together I can see a sort of connection forming naturally because they're both long-suffering creatives who highly value The Art of it and wish to be recognized for their talents. They could brainstorm a screenplay together like he said he wanted... she could draw out the storyboards... oh the magnificent chaos. They would either love bouncing ideas back and forth or clash constantly because neither are team players and both are very particular about their own vision. But maybe they could compromise eventually

There's also the fact that they're pretty complementary personalities and can also relate to each other on a deeper level than the above but we're not getting into that in this post because it's gonna be long enough as is

Assuming that they do already become at least somewhat involved with each other before the events of the arc, here's some of what I can see happening

The aftermath of the Puzzlevision movie is definitely a turning point in their relationship. After the main crew beats his ass and his TV gets yeeted far far away I imagine she's the one to find him first instead of Mario (or he lands in her backyard, because convenient plot elements are convenient). I can see him being bummed out for a bit, he has every reason to grieve his shattered victory before he picks himself back up with manic enthusiasm and continues his quest for fame, and as she grabs his TV in spite of the glass shards and brings him in from the starting rainfall and inside her home, he questions her loyalty. Why would she still help? After he's been so brutally defeated, humiliated on live broadcast? What could she possibly be hoping to gain from this? And she's like I just care about you, dumbass. You're funny and lively and I wanna match your freak I find you pretty fascinating. I understand what yearning for recognition is like and I wanna help you get somewhere with your self-fulfillment but with a little less attempted murder this time please. And his friendless little mind is just blown but he's like yippee awesome let's get to it

She hopes after all that they could start on a different approach that avoids the SMG4 crew altogether. So anyway his first request is can you smuggle me into the Showgrounds I just wanna talk to them

Wait, so how did she feel about him trapping people in the shows? Welp. Nothing she could do. She was helpless! But she was sooo worried for them all while chewing popcorn on her couch at home watching the streams from her laptop, trust (she's a little bit cold and fucked up too there's just no other way these two could work out, plus she WAS technically helpless to stop him)

Another idea I've had is that... he stalks people, right. He canonically stalked Mario, he'd been watching all of them through screens and shit I think, it's a pretty standard part of his practices. If it's in person I think she would come along. People watcher + wants to supervise him + it's technically hanging out, her only qualm is the fear of getting caught. Girl why are your morals so lax about stalking. What is wrong with you. You're lucky your boyfriend makes you look like an angel in comparison

(Him frantically taking notes on Mario's source of the funni behind a bush + her getting bored two minutes in and just sketching the neighboring house or something until he's done. Parallel play <3)

Honestly her presence overall changes little to nothing in the story. Adds some things but the outcome of each mini-arc is the same. And I don't think it necessarily diminishes the Leggy friendship either, because having Two people you're bonded with after a lifetime of loneliness is indeed twice the amount of One, but it's still. Not a lot. That loss is still gonna fuck him up and make him worse (which also makes things worse for Firkász as a target of codependence, but more on such psychological burdens later)

Anyway something sillier I thought of is when Pedro is created she immediately assumes a parental role for no reason. She is a mom now & that is her son. And Puzzles is the dad, even though he vehemently denies this. "Don't talk to your son that way" "I'm not a father damn it" "but you created him" "yes but that doesn't make me-" and then Pedro starts looking all sad in a meme-y way. Do not deny your son Puzzles. Hesitantly he accepts the title if only to keep his minion cooperative

When Mario and Pedro have the meme-off she's in the audience cheering. Emotional support. Then Pedro loses but starts hanging out with Mario and finding himself, away from his deadbeat dad who only wanted to use him for views. I think it'd be really funny if he kept in touch with Firkász afterward but not Puzzles. One day her phone starts ringing during a conversation and she'll casually check it like "oh it's sonny boy Pedro" and while she goes to answer it he's just like "what"

Eventually she would also start suspecting that Puzzles might be homeless. He swings by her place often yet she's never seen his, he does all his villainous business in these abandoned buildings, and he's not really working or earning money? So she eventually asks "by the way where do you live" and after a series of unsatisfactory answers she's like "oh my god. just move in with me"

Then again is it really moving in if he's already hanging around like half the time. He can just come and go through television I guess. If she had one

Now there are multiple ways the Puzzle Park conundrum could go, each slightly varying in the amount of angst that follows. The simplest one is the cop-out where, coincidentally, during the entire Didney takeover and the SMG4 crew's entrapment Firkász just so happens to be Somewhere Else. Like while no one way paying attention she went to visit family or something. Blissfully unaware until return. It would be of course hilarious that she just casually misses colossal events like that, but besides that he could even take offense to it

The other and less pleasant alternative is her not sneaking a trip abroad and sticking around for the entire thing, which is bad because while she loves stepping as far aside as allowed when heinous things happen and then washing her hands, or maybe at this point she's even disturbed and concerned and afraid enough to want to cut him off, he won't let it happen. Making him care for her was her second mistake. (Caring herself was the first.) Now he's unwilling to lose her, and he possesses significant power with which he can make her submit. She's faced with the choice of either shutting up obediently, or being brainwashed along with the crew. He won't hurt her or, God forbid, torture her, oh no, he would never do something so horrible to his lovely Scribbles. But her personal autonomy is, for the moment, entirely negligible

If she's brainwashed and controlled, well, that's just utterly violating and something she'd have a very hard time forgiving. Girl what did you expect, he's the Brainwashes And Controls People Guy, you saw that red flag and you made a cozy little blindfold out of it. Coupled with the fact that she'd be the singular person to ever visit him in containment that means a lotta screaming, feeling wretched, then doing it again next week. Perhaps she'd stop coming one day, because she could no longer find more affection in herself than resentment to scrape out during those few hours, but it would eat her alive. Besides it would be dangerous... what if he breaks out somehow. What if she's never safe. Buuut that went a bit too serious and scary and we gotta stay silly here so on to the next option-

(Before we move on I think brainwashed Scribs would be dressed up very fancy and showy, like a magician's assistant. In a bold royal purple and sparkling gold perhaps. She'd perch elegantly on top of a TV, legs crossed, sneering at the bumbling contestants)

If she's taken but allowed her consciousness, I have fondly imagined that she gets the dubious honor of staying with him, physically speaking, inside the engine room... just imagine the feeling. Stuck in direct proximity of such a colossal mechanical being that's hanging from cables upon cables, huge screens surrounding you overlooking the park. I think it's pretty epic, if you aren't busy being terrified. Hey Scribbles didn't you want hands-on inspiration for your next novella anyway, maybe it could be tech horror-

This way she can witness all the fun challenges while still within a safe and agreeable proximity. Besides I don't think he would've ever intended a more physical role for her in the management of the park anyhow. She's more like arm candy or something... in this case for his enjoyment only ;)

Now as for Puzzles' defeat I've been tempted to not tamper with that either. It would certainly be less hassle, plus I don't know why, unlike the shameless self-indulgence of my AUs, when it comes to OC insertion I just get... shy to upset the status quo and the natural flow of events. Feels like a transgression unless based on extremely good reasoning. For the record I won't come into your house and steal all your cheese if you do it, by all means live out your Mary Sue dreams, comrades; this is mainly me being strict with myself. With Puzzles and M(L)eggy I don't wanna take away from the significance of their shared arc, albeit in the case of Firkász here being built up as an important companion suchly, I feel like either of them could reasonably do the deed. There may be a world where a conscious Firkász, already at prime proximity, decides to save the trio from a death struggle by going inside his head in an act of betrayal. But that's juuust a theory! /ref

Small side note, I feel like Leggy appearing to Child Puzzles in his mindscape did more harm than good anyway... since it only cemented his obsession with the little nugget. And whatever "power of friendship" lesson he's "learned" is pretty diminished by the fact that his crimes and mental instability have landed him a likely lifelong spot in solitary confinement. (Some people say he might come back, I fear for that possibility but also, slay king, we love to have you.) And besides I don't think he even learned a damn thing. His obsessive tendencies are just focused on his Companion Cube now

That leads me into my final point, the post-canon alterations... oh how much more comfortable it is, to meddle with a part of the timeline that has yet to be clearly paved against your intentions. There is soft and bountiful soil here, albeit radioactive

Picture this. You're Scribbles. Your boyfriend is in extremely high security prison and batshit insane. He's still your boyfriend. He has literally no one else. Of course you're gonna be visiting him

The first time she comes in she's horrified to see that they tied him to the bed. Untie him. Untie him right now what the hell were you all thinking. She'll formally request it if she must, yes she knows what he did but this is just inhumane. Twenthy layers of concrete bricks and metal are more than enough to keep him in there. He has rights too goddamnit

Side note do you think they did that because he could also be considered a threat to himself. Well whoops

I mean I guess how much he's restrained would still be conditional on his behavior so as a compromise what if it varied. Scribbles returns after a week and he's inexplicably in a straitjacket now, greeting her all innocently like "honeyyy hiiii :))" and she's all "what the hell did you do this time". He proceeds to explain that he didn't DO anything it's just that when he snapped at the psychatrist and threatened to rip out her spine then crush each vertebra individually before her eyes she didn't take it as a joke

It's evident from Leggy 2.0's existence that after the canon events he gets even more obsessive, if that's even possible, of his perceived connections so you may expect historical magnitudes of codependence here... I mean the power dynamics have been flipped and at any point she could just walk away forever and leave him to rot... so initially he'll have a hard time letting Scribbles go for the day (which is honestly understandable as he's in solitary confinement). When she must depart and he almost rips the cell door off its hinges she commissions a plushie of herself so he has something to remind him of her when she's away. Naturally he talks to it all the time. Leggy Rock and Scribbles Stuffie are buddies

Now she's not a mental health professional... I don't know if they would actually bother assigning him a therapist... I think that therapist would also need a therapist. Or maybe he's a group effort. Either way she'd come up with little crafty activities they can do together other than talking, using what she's allowed to bring in his cell. Paper... crayons I think... bro isn't even trusted with a pen. But drawing is a fun one regardless of your utensils. Origami... I feel like that would activate his perfectionism but once he gets a paper flower right he's so proud of himself and sticks it in her hair and she looks so pretty with it wow. I saw a video on Insta where the OP had a "clay date" with her boyfriend and they made little clay figures of animals and that's so cute too. Imagine the various paper and clay creations piling up on his nightstand over the months. A warm and friendly sight in the otherwise sterile room

A less wholesome opportunity is him recreating his enemies as little clay effigies and squeezing them to death. No Puzzles don't do that. Bad television

Funnily enough, though it can be exhausting to deal with, there are things Firkász would enjoy about this turn of events. He's a talkative fellow at heart and while he might love the sound of his own voice it's mostly all he hears, so when she decides to be the one to rant or rave about what's on her mind, he listens to her. And that feels... nice. Formerly he was so consumed by his plotting that she'd stopped feeling like she ever truly had his attention. When she visits now their time together is just about the two of them (after he accepts she's not going to break him out) and she's gushing about her new idea for a storyboarded sequence or she's describing the world of a novel never to be made or she's showing him her sketchbook or she's complaining about the shit day she had at work and he adds his own commentary to it but he's hearing her out and his eyes aren't on anyone or anything else. You know. Feels a lot like getting back someone you loved

Do I think he would eventually be released in light of her positive influence on his mental health? Hmm... dubious. I would definitely enjoy a redemption arc for him but as a part of that he's gotta stay out of the SMG4 crew's business. They owe him no forgiveness after all that

It would give way to amusing interactions of course if Firkász had made good acquaintaces with them in the meantime so as a result they and Puzzles have to sort of... tolerate each other sometimes... Meggy would probably like seeing his improvement but also at a distance, for now... it's kinda weird for them isn't it, because they both only liked each other when she was turned into the equivalent of a toddler

Anyway all of the above was really just a lengthy excuse to give Scribbles scary dog privileges. Yes I said it. Pretty sure many people would remember or have heard of the threat this man was and even if they don't know, just look at him. Look at that face. Does this face make you feel safe

Touch his morality chain and there's a nonzero chance you'll be begging him to release you from the mortal coil by 2PM. He may be trying his best, but old habits die hard... and you'll die harder :)

TO answer your question of.. I don't know how long ago you sent this I'm sorry, nah, I mean I had an idea that I'll put bellow but for the most part it was always just meant to be a one time thing, since in my opinion superhero AUs were used and done a lot to the point where I didn't feel my personal au added anything original enough to really turn it into something more

Also I just didn't feel like it 😭

BUT I did let my mind wander and came up w some plot ideas back then so here you go:

Phil, for some reason I never thought of, started working for the hero committee, mainly for money to support his family because while it was very dangerous it payed well, and then Techno & Wilbur when they get older noticed how overworked Phil is and how he keeps putting himself in danger and so to help out their dad they start helping him out.

Tommy always admired the hero Phil presents himself as, but he never really knew that it was his dad, nor that ANY of his family were heroes.

SBI neglected tommy (without meaning to but they still did) because they were quickly climbing up the ranks as best heroes and the committee likes money or whatevs so they kept getting more cases each more complicated than the last cuz the government was like "instead of risking our lives let's let them handle it"

Tommy is eventually told his family's secret (on his 15th birthday) and this makes him hopeful that something Will change,,, yeah no, they still have to leave but this time Tommy just takes it even worse because before he thought they either didn't like him or were actually busy, but now it's worse because it turns out his family are the TOP THREE HEROES (though if I were working on it nowadays I'd change this so they're a bit lower rank yet still on the top heroes ranks, but not top top)

they can literally get out of work if they want they're the most beloved heroes and surely they earn enough so that means they're just having so much fun being heroes that hanging out with tommy isn't worth it (this isn't really true, but Tommy's a bit of unreliable narrator in this)

Then the plan somehow forms of Tommy doing villainous acts to encounter SBI, it works the first few times because all he does is like, tag along with them as they're busy (mainly Wilbur), and SBI think he's a vigilante who's just a big fan and they entertain him.

Eventually they stop paying attention to him because they start getting scolded by the committee to stop wasting time (Phil is mainly the one who gets scolded and pulls back, he's polite in doing so but a bit cold when tommy(vigilante mode) keeps pushing, Techno didn't care for this mysterious fanboy in the first place, Wilbur is having fun but still lightly rejects Tommy's (vigilante mode) attempts at hanging out after a while)

They also stop paying attention to him when they realize that his 'villanous acts' aren't anything that crazy that some of the top heroes need to monitor him, if anything it's just like, breaking windows of abandoned places and graffiti on walls about how SBI suck and how the hero committee is trash

After SBI stop spending time w him even as a vigilante Tommy grows desperate, getting more and more reckless with his acts, and meanwhile in his real life he's avoiding his family as much as he can because the shame and disgust he feels at the fact that his family just keep on putting on a kind face when he knows they want nothing to do with him makes him want to punch a whole in a wall

Turbo & Ranboo are there (BENCHTRIO.. 😭)

With Ranboo being concerned but deciding not to get involved because it's not like Tommy's "actually putting anyone in danger" and with Tubbo just backing Tommy up in whatever crazy shit he decides to do, but also calling Tommy a dumbass when he gets himself hurt or when he actually does start endangering people

Things start to escalate as Tommy gets more and more desperate to spend time w SBI, who by that point are warming up to him (his vigilante (?) Villain (?) Self), but they keep getting told by their superiors not to engage and Tommy's just constantly chasing any sort of what he perceives as affection from his family, which is the annoyance that starts to show up on their faces when he's there but it doesn't matter because they don't /leave/, they still dismiss him, but with the mask, he can be himself without being scared that he'll scare them away, because if they get far enough away form him he can just keep causing problems and have them scold him and have a reason for them to spend time with him and notice him

So basically it's Tommy's decent into becoming genuinely self destructive and dangerous out of just wanting to be noticed and loved by his family, his heroes. And the more SBI push him away without noticing what they're doing, the worse he's getting.

And that's just the ideas I had for Tommy himself! But yeah, sorry it was so much text ;(

Why do you ship Sans x Frisk? As a person who ships them myself, what do you see in them, like about them? Personality traits, situations, tropes etc, anything that comes to mind, what makes you enjoy them and continue to breathe life to them?

Oh geez I did not expect this deep question. But good question! I guess I just feel like they are fit together, their personalities, situations and brings them to met and the way they treat eachother. But well in Undertale canon, I would prefer Sans and Frisk as besties! The age are not confirmed and I would not try to risk anything. I really like Sans and Frisk as duo when I was younger, very young I dunno why but I feel like I love them when I first saw them both on internet, I remember that it was Secret Garden animation. It sparked something in me as a kid but I was young and don't know things much. Years later I learned more about Undertale because of one guy that I love. I learn about all characters, their lore and everything I was obsessed with Undertale so much I have never thought about ships or anything until I remember about flowerfell again. And I really like Sans and Frisk as duo so... yeah that's why I really love them being together. I find comfort and relatable with them. But seeing people are being so hateful and misunderstood about these, I decided to keep it as secret that I ship Frans and draw it in private for long time. But something changed when I listened to Overgrowth find every fanfics about it as much as I could and my love for Flowerfell grew more and more then I found the truth about dramas, I read about what happened. And I think, this is not fair for all those people who are hiding from society just cause society misunderstood about them and never try to understand. I stand up again and don't really care who'll report or hate me. Cause I did not do anything illegal and I'm sure about that. If they will be disrespectful then so be it. How I feel for Sans n Frisk? It just that I feel like they're soulmates(?) In my opinion. They are uhh meant for eachother. No matter what universe, time, place I just feel like there would be something that'll bring this two together again as friends, lovers or anything. It made me felt brighter, have hope for things I cannot explain. It feels like I'm not alone. I like everything about them, everything. I see hope, heart warming, understanding, determination, caring, honesty, acception, and love in them. I just find comfort in them both- I relate to them both somehow, somehow. And I think they are fit with each other, despite how difficult it would be. Almost every fanfictions of them, It all just, perfect. And I can't help but love it and being obsessed with it. I uh remember that one time when I found out that there are good stuff about Frans out there, it makes my heart overwhelmed and shaking in excited. Even all words that I've said, still cannot explain how much I love it. Seeing them just, somehow always made me happier when I had bad days.
